Mr. Reynaldo Lugtu Jr.

Country Manager for Communications Sector, IBM Philippines


Reynaldo (Rey) Lugtu is Professor of Business Management and Marketing in the MBA Program of the Graduate School of Business of the De La Salle University where he teaches Management Principles, Business Process Outsourcing, Internet Marketing, E-Commerce, and Special Topics in Strategic Management. He is also Professor of Marketing in the M.S. in Marketing and M.S. in Marketing Communications programs of the Graduate Studies of the College of Business and Economics, De La Salle University where he teaches Sales Management, Personal Selling, Direct Marketing, Pricing Strategy, Mobile Marketing, Product Management, Industrial and Services Marketing, and Electronic Marketing.


Concurrently, he is Program Director of the Business Process Outsourcing Certificate Program of De La Salle University, in collaboration with the Business Processing Association of the Philippines (BPA/P), offering management and supervisory courses for the BPO sector. He served as lecturer in the Leadership and Management Development Program (LMDP) Program of the Professional Development Center of De La Salle Professional Schools Inc from 2005 to 2008 where he trained executives and professionals. He is a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) candidate in De La Salle University where he likewise finished his MBA. He finished the Management Development Program of Helsinki School of Economics (HSE) in Finland; the Master Deal-Maker Program (certificate in stratetgy, sales, and negotiaitions) of INSEAD and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania; and the Client Executive Program (strategy and management program) of China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) in Shanghai.


He conducts trainings in the areas of strategy, management and supervision, teambuilding, negotiations, sales and marketing, customer service, quality management, and change management; and has trained over 2,000 executives and professionals. He has trained several multinational and local firms andcooperatives, which include Bank of Commerce, Pfizer Philippines, Thomson Financial, Premiere Bank, Deltek Philippines, ParkAds, Rolls Royce Phils, Cyber City Teleservices, Clark Investors and Locators Association, AES Philippines/Masinloc Power Partners Co., various electric cooperatives, and others.


He is an experienced professional with several years experience in general management, sales and marketing management, operations management, and business development gained from the information technology, telecommunications, automotive, consumer electronics, pharmaceutical and FMCG industries. He held senior management positions in multinational companies as Business Director in Ericsson Telecommunications, Head of Services Business in Nokia Networks, Division Head in Robert Bosch, and Sales and Marketing Manager in Getz Bros. He is currently Country Manager of Communications Sector in IBM Philippines handling the telecommunications, media, and utilities business unit.


In IBM, he is a global resource speaker for subject areas in telecommunications, media and entertainment, sustainable solutions, intelligent systems, smart grid, and green infrastructure. He received the IBM Golden Circle Award in 2008, IBM's premier sales recognition event for top sales leaders, the IBM Asia Pacific Leadership Award in 2007, and the Hundred Percent Club Award, IBM ASEAN in 2005 and 2007. He was awarded by Nokia Asia Pacific in 2000 as the Best Sales Account and Best Account Team in Asia Pacific. Hewas likewise awarded by Robert Bosch Southeast Asia as Rookie of the Year in 1996 for outstanding business growth.


He is the founder of the Philippine Chapter of the World Futurist Society, an organization dedicated to forecasting and studying the future. He is a member of the Philippine Internet Commerce Society (PH- ICS), and Integrated Telecommunications Suppliers Association of the Philippines (ITESAP).
